In this paper for the Egmont Institute, Balazs Ujvari explores the extent to which the EIB contributes, through its operations outside the EU, to the priorities guiding the Union’s External Action, and identifies ways in which the EIB can act as a multiplier. The author recommends maximising the EIB’s contribution to the EU’s external role.
