When will Things change? Looking for Signs of Progress on Ending Rural Hunger

Reducing poverty and improving equity
Oct 17, 2017 | Brookings Institution, Geoffrey Gertz, Homi Kharas, John McArthur, Lorenz Noe

In 2015, the international community committed to ending hunger through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Since then, there is little evidence that governments are mobilising to make this a reality. If anything, the goal is slipping further from view. In this note of the Brookings Institution, Geoffrey Gertz, Homi Kharas, John McArthur, and Lorenz Noe review developments in food and nutrition security (FNS) over the past year. The note is accompanied by the updated Ending Rural Hunger database - https://endingruralhunger.org - which presents details on the state of rural hunger in 152 developing countries and the international and domestic actions of 29 developed countries in support of FNS.
