How the BRICS exert Influence in the Global Politics of Development

E-International Relations distinguishes four major strategies of international engagement employed by the BRICS: Issue leadership, region organizing, region mobilizing and opportunity seeking. BRICS members seek to cement their economic position and exert influence favouring their circumstances and national economic and political characteristics. He contends that this approach helps to move beyond the specifics of each BRICS country, while establishing a flexible tool for analysis of power projection across different cases and over time.
