The Global Nutrition Report 2017

Reducing poverty and improving equity
Nov 08, 2017 | Development Initiatives Poverty Research

Almost every country faces a serious nutrition-related challenge, whether from undernutrition or obesity. This report by the Development Initiatives Poverty Research highlights the need for an integrated response to global nutrition if the Sustainable Development Goals are to be met. It finds that 88 percent of the 140 countries studied face a serious burden of either two or all three indicators of broader trends: Childhood stunting, anaemia in women of reproductive age, and overweight adult women. The authors call for a change in the global response to malnutrition and action to tackle the causes of malnutrition.
