Almost thirty years after the end of the Cold War, we are experiencing a major geopolitical change that might not be favorable to Western interests. Instead of China or Russia conforming to the West, Mathew Burrows suggests in this Issue Brief of the Atlantic Council that the West may need to adapt to an increasingly non-Western-driven world. He outlines three scenarios and argues that depending on how the West reacts, traditional Western values could endure even if a Western-led order does not.
