Pathways for Peace: Inclusive Approaches to Preventing Violent Conflict

Addressing vulnerability and promoting security
Apr 15, 2018 | United Nations, World Bank

This joint publication by the United Nations and World Bank explores how development can better interact with diplomacy and mediation, security and other means of containing violent conflict. It highlights elements that have contributed to peace, notably addressing grievances arising from exclusion from access to power, opportunity and security. States have the primary responsibility for prevention, but to be effective, civil society, the private sector, and regional and international organizations must be involved.
