Building Resilience in the Class Room

Sharing core norms and values
May 14, 2018 | Tony Blair Institute for Social Change

The definition of basic quality education needs to be expanded to include global competencies. But many countries are facing a significant implementation gap between policy and practice, with implications for three key reform areas: Curricula, resources and teaching. This policy briefing by the Tony Blair Institute for Social Change sets out policy recommendations for these areas, for governments, schools and teachers. It suggests that the reforms should be a central part of national and subnational counter-extremism policies because these will fail unless education systems equip young people with the understanding, tools and confidence to develop resilience against extremist narratives.
