NATO's Intelligence - Adaptation Challenge

Improving global governance
May 22, 2018 | GLOBSEC Policy Institute, Bratislava, Artur Gruszczak

NATO’s 29 member states continue to address the complex task of transforming a transatlantic security organisation into a robust, effective and agile alliance to secure national interests through multilateral initiatives, readiness, joint operations and common financial efforts. In this paper by the GLOBSEC Policy Institute, Bratislava, Artur Gruszczak examines NATO's intelligence resources, assets and capabilities against the backdrop of its security environment, strategic concepts and international cooperation. He reviews the Alliance's adaptability to the rapid advance of information production and diffusion in the context of strategic forecast, situational awareness and operational planning, and its readiness to use potential joint intelligence opportunities with the European Union.
