Aug 21, 2018 | Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, World Resources Institute, Mathilde Bouyé, Sven Harmeling, Nils-Sjard Schulz

Drawing on experience in 11 countries and the European Union, this paper by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the World Resources Institute (WRI) provides examples of steps to advance the Sustainable Development Goals and actions under the Paris Agreement. Mathilde Bouyé, Sven Harmeling and Nils-Sjard Schulz explore five key challenges: Coordinating institutions, aligning national climate and SDG-relevant targets, mainstreaming the goals into policy planning, optimizing financial resources, and building mutually reinforcing monitoring and reporting frameworks.
