Addressing vulnerability and promoting security
Jan 10, 2019 | Center for Strategic and International Studies, Judd Devermont

2019 is a crucial year for sub-Saharan Africa. The region will hold presidential elections in nine countries, including Nigeria and South Africa, while conflicts in Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Mali, Nigeria, South Sudan, and Somalia are unlikely to be resolved soon. In this preview of 2019, Judd Devermont of the Center for Strategic and International Studies has compiled a list of key countries and issues to watch.
