The law enacted by the State of Alabama banning abortions, has been described as the most restrictive in the U.S., and
several other states
have passed restrictions on abortion, inviting the U.S. Supreme Court
to overturn its forty-year old ruling in .Roe v. Wade. About six-in-ten U.S. adults (58 percent) said in 2018 that abortion should be legal in all or most cases, compared with 37 percent who said that it should be illegal all or most of the time.
