Energy as a Source of Economic Growth and Social Mobility

Delivering sustainable economic growth
Jun 30, 2019 | Center for Strategic and International Studies, Sarah Ladislaw, Jesse Barnett

In this report of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Sarah Ladislaw and Jesse Barnett highlight the new, extra-energy objectives that energy policy must advance and evaluates their historical efficacy. They examine data on social and economic mobility within the United States, summarise what is known about the creation of quality energy jobs and the implementation of best practices in worker re-training, and examine whether investments in R&D and innovation clusters have produced economic activity, jobs, and innovation. They explore the ways in which social and environmental justice concerns are being integrated into energy and climate policy.
