Society is experiencing an uncontrollable collapse of the world it has known. Coming to terms with this new situation is the first step to overcoming this crisis. But little thought has yet been given to what will happen afterwards. In this white paper, the Zukunftsinstitut, Frankfurt, develops four scenarios of a future in the medium to long term after the pandemic: Total isolation: Everyone against everyone; System crash: Permanent crisis mode; Neo-Tribes: The retreat into the private sphere; and Adaption: The resilient society. The four scenarios describe consequences for society as a whole.
