Repurposing our Economies - and our Businesses

Delivering sustainable economic growth
May 06, 2020 | G20-Insights, Colm Kelly

Market economies have been the most successful means of delivering social progress for many decades. This premise is now challenged with growing misalignment between economic activities and outcomes that are both sustainable and acceptable for societies. In his article for G20-Insights, Colm Kelly emphasises the need to refocus economic and business activities on outcomes that are human, rather than primarily financial. Rewiring the current system based on this principle may appear complex, but is possible. The changes envisioned will require imagination and collaboration by many different stakeholders; a willingness to debate and challenge, to listen and learn and to experiment and iterate.
