Sharing core norms and values
Sep 14, 2020 | Brookings Institution, Alejandro Ganimian, Emiliana Vegas, Frederick Hess

Because learners and educators differ within school systems as do the availability and quality of materials and technologies, there is no single “ed-tech” initiative that will achieve good results everywhere. In this essay for the Brookings Institution, Alejandro Ganimian, Emiliana Vegas and Frederick Hess discuss ways in which technology may accelerate student learning when used to improve content quality, facilitate differentiated instruction, increase opportunities for practice and learner engagement. To accelerate student learning in each context, decisionmakers must define clear objectives and establish means of assessing progress regularly and correct course in a timely manner.
