Fitting the Pieces Together: Implications for Resilience, Adaptive Peacebuilding and Transitional Justice

Addressing vulnerability and promoting security
Oct 11, 2021 | Norwegian Institute for International Affairs, Cedric de Coning

Resilience, adaptive peacebuilding and transitional justice can help societies recover after collective violence. In this article for the Norwegian Institute for International Affairs, Cedric de Coning examines societies across Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East that have experienced, or continue to experience, violence. In eight case studies he provides in-depth conceptual and empirical analyses of resilience and adaptive peacebuilding in different transitional justice settings, and discusses the ways in which resilience and adaptive peacebuilding emerge in transitional and post-conflict situations.
