In this policy brief by the Think20-Italy 2021, Joris Larik and Richard Ponzio set out priority actions for the “G20 ” in the short and medium-terms; and outline which institutional innovations are needed to achieve these. They outline ways in which a “G20 ” could lead a post-pandemic socio-economic recovery that is effective, sustainable, and equitable. A “G20 ” would harness the group’s formidable economic and political clout, while addressing its deficits as regards legitimacy, representativeness, and connections to the wider multilateral system.
