Towards a Green and Digital Future

Improving global governance
Jul 28, 2022 | European Commission

As the growing significance of digital technologies transforms societies and economies, the European Union seeks to harness digital technologies for sustainability and prosperity, and to empower citizens and business. In this publication by the European Commission, Stefan Muench, Eckhard Stoermer et al describe how the EU seeks to combat climate change and environmental degradation by managing the green and digital ‘twin’ transitions towards environmentally sustainable lifestyles and economies. There is no time to waste, they argue, and the twin transitions must be achieved together by means of proactive and integrated management.
