15 Global Challenges for the Next Decades

Addressing vulnerability and promoting security
Nov 21, 2022 | Open Mind BBVA

The global challenges that humanity faces are transnational in nature and trans-institutional in solution. No government, international organization, or other form of institution, acting alone, can solve the problems described by Jerome Glenn in this report for Open Mind BBVA. Focusing on climate change, cybersecurity threats, organized crime, gaps between rich and poor, environmental pollution, challenges of international finance, gender discrimination, the evolution of disease, and the need for sustainable development, he suggests that the world may have to move from governance by a mosaic of conflicting national government policies to a world governed by coordinated and mutually supportive global policies implemented at all levels.
