The U.N. General Assembly has created a robust peace-building architecture, including the Peacebuilding Commission (PBC), the Peacebuilding Fund (PBF) and the Peacebuilding Support Office (PBSO), to improve the effectiveness of the United Nations in peace-making efforts.
This occasional paper by the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) explores the linkages and differences between humanitarian assistance and peace-building, in order to improve cooperation, while protecting U.N. principles.
