Building an AI World – Report on National and Regional AI Strategies

Delivering sustainable economic growth
Jan 10, 2019 | Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, Tim Dutton, Brent Barron, Gaga Boskovic

This report by the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research surveys the current landscape of national and regional artificial intelligence (AI) strategies. These are described according to eight areas of public policy: scientific research, talent development, skills development, industrialization, ethics, data and digital infrastructure, government services, and inclusion. Tim Dutton, Brent Barron, and Gaga Boskovic define an AI strategy, list those that have been announced, and provide a typology – to provide an overview for policymakers, businesses, and civil society actors.
